Tekbir!!!!!

Alhumdulillah!  I sent hubby a couple of emails this weekend while he was out quoting from scholars that it is MY sin and not only His that I am not wearing hijab.  The questions were exactly my situation....I want to wear hijab but my husband is against it or doesn't allow it.

Allahu ekbar!!!!  He called me today and said he had read my emails or rather the links that I sent him.  He said...if you really want to wear hijab...it comes from within and you want to do it for Allah then go ahead and wear it.  He said...I can't handle that much sin.  I wanted to jump for joy and scream!  Instead I stayed calm and just said jazak Allahu khayran.  Little did he know I had made up my mind last night that I was going to wear it no matter what.  I wore it out today before he had even read those emails.  Allah (swt) is always good and always answers our prayers....even it if takes a while.  We are impatient creatures.

So I am once again a hijabbi!!!!!  I want to shout it from the roof tops!!!  Tekbir!!!!

To hijab or not to hijab....

I am sooo in between on this one.  In my heart I know it is the right thing to do.  One of my neighbors said (after describing to her how DH will allow me to wear the hijab) why even bother.  I know...I kind of feel like that too.  I mean, it's not like I will actually be wearing the hijab.  Just a nice scarf that is worn as a nice accent like those hollywood movie stars.

Another problem I have is I can't find one youtube video showing how the hell those women (mostly Iranian) wear their scarves like that and they don't slip at all.  Anytime I have typed in 'iranian hijab' either videos showing them come up or people protesting them come up.  But not one that shows you how to actually wear it.  There are tons of video on how to wear hijab but they are all the 'correct' hijab and I already know how to wear that one.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, DH told me that I am not mature enough to wear hijab.  Ok...might have mentioned this in an earlier hijab.  Apparently only Allah (SWT) knows when I will be mature enough.  Oh and then there was the arguement about if I wear hijab then how should I go swimming, etc. with my son.  Uh, wear a hijabbi swimsuit.  Oh, apparently it isn't appropriate for a hijabbi to be around other men and see them.  But it's ok if I wear a 'normal' bathing suit and see them then?  huh?

Argh...I have a headache...more later....

wearing the hijab

This weekend we went to a circumssion celebration....DH acutally said I should cover my hair.  All but one or two of the women there were covered.  I had come from the mosque and when he told me we were going I said then let me fix my hair.  He said...why don't you just cover it?  (me inside jumping for joy!!!)  Ok, I guess I could.  His only request was that I leave it a bit lose at the neck instead of pinning it like I normally do.

So now I am in between.  My personality is either do it right or don't do it.  So, knowing that not closing the hijab at the neck is not right I feel strange, but on the other hand I think....it is a start.

Several of the women there that night said it is a start...let him get used to it.  But on Monday I woke up and didn't cover my hair.

I am really torn.  I mean I cover my hair 5 times a day when I pray.  The more and more I live Islam and learn about it the more and more I feel like every religion should have their own country.  Or maybe it should be continent.  They'd give us the middle east for sure and I wouldn't mind cause I hate the cold!!!!  Lol!  But then at least we could wear hijab in peace and live our religion in peace.  You want to eat pork and walk around showing off your tits and your ass then live in the north american continent.  You want to live according to the correct religion then go to the middle eastern continent.

Would be just fine by me.  It would be a lot easier raising our kids too.
Getting off the subject here....let me know what do you think.  I know you are torn too....or were at one time.
