Again, wow! I can't believe it's been as long as it has since I put the hijab back on. And I can't believe I've been following Amena on youtube/facebook/her own website since November.
I went to the states during the winter break here (aka x-mas break) and all I got were great comments on how nice I had wrapped my hair and how great I looked. Granted I didn't go traditional hijabbi....I wore a turtle neck and wrapped my scarf in a bun at the back of my head. Everything covered....just like it should be. :-))
I love that the new hijab styles are so great now. And that soo many people are getting into them. I love that we can wear hijab, be muslim and still individualize ourselves with our own style. Or, be picked out in a crowd because we are Pearl-Daisy's....LOL! (If you follow Amena you know what I am talking about)
I pray that insha'Allah the styles continue to be so great and that women continue to take advantage of them. I also pray that more and more non-muslims start to appreciate them.
